I like the simple lines and A-line cut skirt on the dress.
I picked it for the dress pattern. I think it would be perfect for spring / summer. I would just like to add some pockets. Hmm, patch pockets in the front or side seam pockets. I'm going to have to think about that one.

I plan to do something that I don't normal do, mix fabrics. I thought that I would use the print fabric for the bodice and short sleeve pieces and the gold coloured fabric for the skirt portion.
The fabrics are of the same fibre content. 100% cotton stretch sateen that is now found in the reduced section of my local Fabricland for 70% off.
I really do love the deals that you can pick up at the end-of-season. Swweeeet!
This is a very cute dress pattern! I like the two different fabrics you have chosen for the bodice and skirt.
ReplyDelete(and thank you for your nice comment on my top...)
Great looking pattern - and the fabrics you have picked out are very lovely. I don't see why you shouldn't be thinking a season ahead - it will be so nice when the very first glimmer of sunshine arrives to have something new to wear!
ReplyDeleteCarolyn, your welcome. The compliment was well deserved, I enjoy reading your blog. I wish I had your (and Eugenia's) level of skill. Thanks for the inspiration until I get there.
ReplyDeleteEugenia, I think you're right, it would be nice to have something new ready when the first signs of spring arrive.
I can't wait to clear off the projects I have on the go right now and make a muslin of the pattern.
