In Sewing News Today...

I made something!

It actually took me a week to finish a pull-on skirt but I finally made something! You're going to have to take my word on it because I can't find the card reader to download the visual proof. Hopefully [fingers crossed] I'll have photos to show-and-tell soon. The skirt is another version of Vogue 9060, the first version can be found here. This time I made it in a ponte knit from my stash that I had left over from this skirt. I love this pattern.

I know it is a detour from that spring coat I was working on. It is still sitting on the dress form as I'm still trying to fit those set-in sleeves. I have one sleeve basted with ease that I have to get rid of, somehow. I guess the skirt project was a way not to get discouraged with my sewing ability.

In other sewing news, Butterick pattern have released their new summer patterns. Have you checked them out?

I'm not surprised that I found a Tilton design that I like.  This top looks so comfortable.

I might have to do something with that back hemline though.

And Gertie came out with a super cute top.  Now if I had arms like that model, I might consider this pattern. At my age and size, I need sleeves to hit the gym if I want to make this top.

Love the curved hem band on this skirt. Oh, to have the figure to pull this off. ~sigh~ I'm working on it. Come to think of it, I could use another work-out gear item. Maybe that should be my next project.

How about you?  Are you a sleeves or gym person?  And any new summer patterns on you list?

Happy Sewing!

    1. You are such a sweet person to offer that. Can you believe that I'm still waiting for my Vogue patterns to arrive. I ordered them on April 16th. Vogue 9057, the Marcy Tilton t-shirt is one of the patterns I ordered so I'm going to make that one first--if it ever gets here. lol.
