It didn't take long for the refashioned slip to end up on the mending pile. After trying it on with this dress, it became evident that it needed to be shortened. Just a turn up, press and then top-stitched in place with the knit stitch on the sewing machine.
And this gifted slip came back to be taken in at the side seams. I thought I copied the toile version, not quite sure what went wrong. The side seams were taken in at 3/4" and serged for a three inch total reduction in the width.
