I was just taken back at how it was fitting as I pieced it together. I'm also a pear shape and you're right the dress measurements do seem to be for those without hips. I just checked their sizing, and I would be smaller than a 0 in the bust (really?!) and a 10 in the hips. I'm a pear, but in most patterns, I only span 3-4 sizes, not 6+.
